THE DEADLIEST DRUG: Maine’s addiction to alcohol

THE DEADLIEST DRUG: Maine’s addiction to alcohol.

For years now we have heard about the “opiate addiction epidemic” that took hold in Maine in the late 1990 until present.  However, when one reads this ground breaking series on Maines TRULY deadliest drug, we start to put things into perspective.

I remember reading this series while I was working for a small outpatient substance abuse facility in Rockland Maine.  It blew me away.  If these stories don’t profoundly change the way you look at Maines use of alcohol, nothing will.

The fact that, honestly, made me chuckle and sad at the same time?  80% of the WORLDs supply of Coffee Flavored Brandy…is sold in little ole iddy biddy MAINE!

I want to thank you for writing about this subject on this blog! I am an alcoholic whom has been through rehab twice and am discovering the beauty of sobriety.

I have become a contributor to a great website called sobriety.org

It is my hope that sobriety.org will become a focal point run by the sober community for the sober community. I look forward to hearing from many of you and developing this website into a powerful life saving tool, even if only for one or two people. Consider this site your community for a happy and sober life!
