Can you believe this???? Did you notice that the most important requirement, Internet Experience, was at the very bottom of the list?? What I want to know is…. how did this get in the paper in the first place?? I think the editor is a friend of the person placing the ad…. how else could something like this make it past the editor????   SAD….. CAN YOU SAY DISCRIMINATION????!!!

It does sound like they may have had a “run in” with a bad employee, doesn’t it Lou? Of course they immediately blamed it on the fact that the person was on methadone, instead of just realizing that there are good and bad employees from every group of people!

I spoke with our SMA via email and he has sent this “problem” on to NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Illness) as well as another disability advocacy agency….both of which were horrified by the add and were definitely going to do something to make sure the company that placed it will not be discriminating in their job search. The owner of Turning Tides Clinic will also be contacting her lawyer to see if there is anything we can do to prevent this from ever happening again.

Thank you for letting us know about this Billie! How sad that someone actually believes this ad was OK to publish!

Yes I think so too. The director at my clinic filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. She hasn’t heard any thing yet. I’ll keep people posted…

This almost reads like they have had a couple bad experiences recently. It’s so specific.

That said, I think one could file a discrimination lawsuit.
